Useless on built-up wax
Before buying this, I was using baby oil to clean my cats ears. Baby oil works fine for regular cleanings, but one of my cats started to get a thick build up of wax that it couldn't penatrate. I bought this because so many people gave it high ratings. I followed the directions exactly, but it didn't clean out any more wax than the baby oil did. In all fairness, this product says it's for regular cleanings and doesn't mention thick waxy build up. But still, you'd think that a product labeled "Ear Cleaner" would have done a better job than plain old baby oil.
Great product
As a groomer, and breeder of show dogs, I have used this product for 30 years. I still haven't found one better for keeping a dog's ears clean. Terrific product.
My Dog's Ears are Saved!
I use this product on my dog who has long floppy ears. He has terrible ear odor problems and he scratches his ears all the time. If I use R-7 with the ear cream, he never scratches and he is odor free. I strongly recommend using the cream with the cleaner.
